Pesticides

While intended to eliminate harmful pests from farms, gardens, and yards, pesticides are also harming the bee population in several ways. Air pollutants from the pesticides interfere with bees’ ability to recognize scent molecules from plants, meaning it takes longer for them to find food. They also cause confusion in bees by affecting their learning and feeding behavior as well as their ability to recognize their nests. Reproductive success of bees is diminished as a result of pesticides, and  they can be lethal when direct contact occurs.
